Thought it was a tad small
I can already read music fine so I was interested to see how someone else explained it. From what I read you really only explained the basics, and pretty much nothing on time. It was nice, but I think you should have added a little more in there.
Yea, I agree. I thought about it, and I think I'll keep this the way it is. This is a tutorial on how to read music, not so much a tutorial on sheet music. The sheet music tutorial will explain everything.
Like I've said, I wanted to keep this simple and as easy top understand as possible, mostly for beginners. Thanks for the review and input though!
It wasn't half bad
This is a nice little short.
But the music and the animation don't tie in very well. I give you a six mostly based on your animation/drawing; which I found to be very good. Also...where's your direction? That's the main thing that got me. It has no real point. Now, don't get me wrong, there are a lot of Flashes are like this and I enjoy them a lot. But you well...you missed the target I guess I could say. I like your animation though, and I expect to see more in the future.
PS: It is in my humble opinion that this flash is overrated. Seriously. Does it really deserve an 8? And please don't take my opinion with a grain of salt. I've been going here since 2003, and I've had an account since 2005.

What makes this flash overated. Some people just enjoy fbf animation. This is nothing more than a practice run for me and i decided to use SSBB characters because thats what hit me at the moment. As an artist, I feel I tend to make things that just express what I'm feeling at the time, and I am feeling anticipation. Build up for the most part is what works with the flash. Not every flash needs a plot, and this is mostly directed to other people rather than just you. Anywho, I'm glad to see you been here for a while, so i guess that gives you alot... i dont know... higher levels. Anyway, I don't see how i missed my target when there was no intention of having a target except for people knowing this is a brawl animation. Peace

It's alright. Nice flash work, but the music could use some touch ups. I see what your trying to do here and it works fine. It's just too short, and the sound doesn't give the emotional feel it should. Plus, it sounds like a half an hour work in FL Studio. Not much effort to me.
The music was an after thought. I'm not musician by any means. I just needed something to go with the animation. Noted though, I should work on the music side more.

Its clear your a n00b at flash, but you can animate decently which is good. Your use of sounds is nice too. But it was too short and the lack of any ActionScript what so ever hurts it too. Making buttons and preloaders aren't that hard especially with all the tutorials out now and days. To help align the sprites in the BG, just use the grid. Also spend a little more time working on it too.

its good...
but it wasn't great, your animation was a nearly perfect, and your graphics were pretty good too. The only problem with the visuals is that you DIDN'T DRAW ANY FRIGGEN EYES!!! I mean, you got a great style, but eyes are importent! The sound was meh, and it was decently funny, but nothing much else other than that. Make some better jokes, and draw some friggen eyes next time and I'll be loving the flash. :>

a somewhat mixed opinion...
Yep, I didn't find it funny... but that doesn't mean I hated it. The graphics were outstanding, mainly because of the way implemented. So many different graphic styles into one movie is not seen often and when it works, IT WORKS. The style itself gets a lower score because of the way it presented, which is a lot like that of Mario and other video game parodies alike, not to mention it had Mario, violence and explosions... ya so original. The sound was a complex mix that varied (mostly from video games obviously ;) but it fit the mood, and was diverse, plus there was lots of it, so overall it sounded good. Now for violence… well... um... ya. Ok moving onto interactivity, for me (and if the flash is a movie) interactivity's how much you would like to go back and watch it again, and maybe I will, but mostly not. Now for humor, the main part! I didn't find it really funny, hell I've seen Mario get killed a thousand times over, whether on a video game console or a flash, its not that funny anymore! Novelty dies out, stuff gets old, and so does Mario getting killed one way or another... and that "HA HA!" thing was just annoying!!! The only parts I thought were truly funny, was the satellite part (because you never see a death like that! :D) the Newgrounds part was funny up until you added all that DBZ stuff in and ruined with, once again, a lack of taste for originality... The funniest part was the last one with Luigi... You think everything’s alright until… well you know the rest. Overall it was just a crack above average... and without much actual original content I don’t believe it deserves any higher than a 6/10. Hopefully you won't need anger management like most authors do when you give there flash score lower than a seven. Wow, I think this is the longest review I've ever written!
Don't worry, there's no anger management needed. I understand that some people may not find it funny, but that's fine. Some senses of humor just can't be catered to in one flash. I'm glad you liked the graphics, that's good. However, calling such a flash unoriginal was a bit... well, untrue.
I mean, look at a great number of Mario parodies. Usually when Mario's killed, the author decides to make him commit suicide once and mutilate him in some way. Decapitation (well, not with a shotgun), disembowling, and otherwise being ripped apart. I minimized on this factor, simply having his head "spiked" and of course "shotgunned". That's just about the only really violent deaths in the flash, if you can call red flash graphics "gory". My style and presentation were very original. Absolutely none of what I presented has been done before. Much of the presentation relied on unexpected aspects, stuff which the viewer would never expect to see.
True, I have a lot of users complaining about Bowser's HAHA. But if he's simply removed, the flash will lose it's consistency. I've got to rework parts of the scenes, true.
There was only 1 DBZ thing that didn't even make mention towards DBZ or play on too many DBZ aspects. You'd have to know what DBZ was in order to cross the two. It was completely original- what would you have expected the robots to do? Not launch an energy cannon beam out of their hands! And yes, everyone also loves the very end part.
Still, the flash was loaded with original ideas and you yourself claimed the artwork and graphics styles to be successful. Isn't that originality? Vague categories are really dumb ways of classifying something as unoriginal or not. That's something you should consider while watching and reviewing these flashes.
You also mentioned that you found nothing funny, yet the satellite, most of the NG scene, and luigi's death WERE funny. What's up with that?

Good work, of the contest entries I've seen, (and I've seen alot of them) yours is one of my favorites. The quality of your animation isn't top notch, but it made me laugh, and thats all that counts.
